Banned Books Week (September 26th – October 3rd) is a national celebration of the freedom to read. Every year the American Library Association, along with other groups, celebrates the first 
amendment and your freedom to express your opinion even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular. The campaign also stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those viewpoints to all who wish to read them.
