Minnesota author, Mary Casanova, tells the story of Sadie Rose during the 1920s on Rainy Lake in Minnesota. Taken in by the Worthingtons, orphan Sadie Rose is raised in a wealthy family who lives in a mansion on Summit Avenue in St Paul and spends the summers up north. Even with her fortunate change in circumstance, Sadie Rose can't help wondering about the mother who had died and left her without speech in a snowbank.
