Dates: April 24 & 25
Times: 8:30 am to 2:00 pm
Minnesota Discovery Center
Group 1 - 8 volunteers each day
Collect materials for assigned school group
meet chaperone at bus with materials
guide school group through their day
communicate needs with staff members via radio provided
Collect take home materials to give to chaperones at end of day
attend the festival training session
This position will require good communication skills and standing for long periods of time.
There will be time spent both outdoors and indoors. Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers to accommodate changing weather. Umbrellas or raingear may be needed.
Group 2 - 6 volunteers each day
Provide Group 1 volunteers with needed materials
Assist Food Services with lunch delivery
Provide Group 1 volunteers with take-home materials
attend the festival training session
This position will require good communication skills and walking for an extended period of time during the lunch period.
There will be time spent both outdoors and indoors. Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers to accommodate changing weather. Umbrellas or raingear may be needed.
Group 3 - 9 volunteers each day
Assist at each presentation station as needed
communicate needs with staff members as needed
provide direction as needed
attend the festival training session
This position requires good communication skills and can be primarily sitting at the presentation location, but will require standing and walking as needed.
Most, but not all, of this time will be spent indoors. Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers to accommodate changing weather. Umbrellas or raingear may be needed.
