Fourth book in the Walt Fleming series, Walt is a sheriff in Sun Valley, Idaho where he is tracking a killer suspected of murdering Caroline Vetta, well known groupie to major league sports figures. Lou Boldt, a detective from Seattle, asks for help when a couple of suspects show up in Sun Valley. Martel Gale or Gale Force as he was known when he played linebacker for the New Orleans Saints has been recently paroled and a suspect in the beating death of Caroline Vetta.
When one of the suspects in the Vetta death is found dead, Walt must put aside his new feelings for crime photographer, Fiona Krenshaw when she appears to know more about the latest murder than she is telling.
