Bad Blood by Dana Stabenow
Alaskan Kate Shugak, lives on a 160-acre homestead in an Alaskan National Park with Johnny, the son of her lover and boss who had died saving her life; Jim Chopin, friend, lover and law enforcement for the Park; and her half-wolf, half-husky dog named Mutt.
Start with her first book, A Cold Day for Murder, written back in 1992. Bad Blood is the twentieth book in the Kate Shugak mystery series.
