Uncaged The Singular Menace Book 1 John Sandford & Michele Cook

Singular is a ruthless corporation conducting unspeakable experiments.  A radical animal-rights group raids their Eugene, Oregon lab.  The raid turns into a disaster but Odin Remby escapes with a set of encrypted flash drives and a post-surgical dog.

Shay Remby gets a frantic call from Odin.  He is on the run and is currently in the LA area.  Almost immediately, Singular’s security team shows up to question her.  Shay knows her brilliant autistic hacker brother needs immediate help.  She arrives in Hollywood with $58 and a handmade knife.

John Sandford and Michele Cook have written a fast paced thriller for young adults.  It is a definite page-turner and adults should also try it.  There is tension throughout and some very likable characters. The artist, Twist, who takes Shay in almost immediately upon her arrival in Hollywood, seems almost too good to be true but he adds an extra dimension to the story. 

 I enjoyed the book and will look for the sequel. Nancy
