Leaving Everything Most Loved by Jacqueline Winspear

Tenth in the Maisie Dobbs series, Maisie Dobbs, after several difficult cases, feels that she must travel and visit other cultures to expand her knowedge and experience to better assist and understand the clients who come to her for help. Her former mentor has died and left her the means to travel, but she hesitates to leave her business and her father.
Detective Inspector Caldwell, Scotland Yard, brings her a case where Usha Pramal, governess with an important family in England, has been murdered and the case remains unsolved. Scotland Yard and Mr. Pramal, Usha's brother, ask Maisie for help.

Start with the first book in this series set in England, just after World War I: Maisie Dobbs.
