Library Solar Panels

In 2012, 96 solar panels from Silicon Energy were purchased and installed on the library roof with a $250,000 Renewable Energy Grant from the IRRRB.

Did you know:

Minnesota receives about 4.5 sunlight hours per day.  Even with our extreme winters, solar works!  The amount of sun Minnesota receives is comparable to some southern states.  Also, solar modules work more
effectively in cooler temperatures.

Solar photovoltaics reduce your carbon footprint and helps save the planet.

In the future the solar photovoltaics will reduce the library's electric energy bill.
